High school scholars in the Elon Academy learned Thursday afternoon of the opportunities to do original research in college when they partnered with Elon University students taking part in the Summer Undergraduate Research Experiences program.

Faculty members Angela Lewellyn Jones, Beth Warner and Pam Kiser have had two publications on social entrepreneurship and service-learning.

The grassy area in front of Mooney doubled as a hospital ward, battleground and infirmary Tuesday morning as several academically gifted students enrolled in Elon’s inaugural Formative Learning Experience program – “FLEX” for short – learned about first aid and took turns dramatizing emergency situations.
