Assistant professor Dion Farganis spoke with News 14 Carolina for a "TalkBack" segment on the Elena Kagan hearings that took place in Washington this summer as lawmakers prepare to vote on her nomination to the U.S. Supreme Court.
Farganis co-authored a paper with a colleague from the University of Kentucky that examined the responsiveness of nominees from 1955 to 2009. His scholarship was the focus of the interview, which included questions on the value of the hearings and what goals Kagan may have had in mind with the answers she provided.
Farganis is joining Elon’s Department of Political Science and Public Administration after spending three years at Bowling Green State University in Ohio.
