Students in the Elon in Los Angeles program will attend the Old Pasadena Film Festival at 8:30 p.m. on Saturday, July 31.
The event is the largest free outdoor film festival in Southern California. Those in attendance will be able to choose to watch either “All about Eve” or “Night of the Living Dead.”
“All about Eve” (1950) was a winner of six Academy Awards, including Best Picture, and stars Bette Davis. It’s in the Amerian Film Institute’s 100 Greatest Movies of All Time. It’s playing at One Colorado Courtyard (41 Hugus Alley).
“Night of the Living Dead” (1968) was the first of six “Dead” films directed by George Romero, and it centers on seven people trying to escape a gang of ravenous zombies. The film is part of the AFI’s 100 Most Thrilling Movies. It’s playing in Central Park (120 S. Raymond Ave.).
