From the Wilson Times (8/31/10): It's not clear what city leaders sought to gain from a year of bulling with cable companies and refusing to release a document that spelled out how Wilson intended to expand Greenlight, its public broadband system.

Debra Briggs Hennelly '88, a mathematics teacher at Southeastern Stokes Middle School, was named the 2010 Stokes County (N.C.) Teacher of the Year earlier this month. Hennelly has been working at SES, where she attended junior high, for 16 years.

This summer, Teaching and Learning Technologies piloted Adobe Connect in the Summer Online 2010 program to enhance the interactive component of teaching and learning in the online environment. Read more...

The Sierra Club named Elon University one of the nation’s top “Coolest Schools” in the environmental group’s fourth annual rankings of America’s greenest campuses. It is the second consecutive year that Elon made the list, which rates schools in categories that include academics, waste management and energy efficiency.
