This summer, Teaching and Learning Technologies piloted Adobe Connect in the Summer Online 2010 program to enhance the interactive component of teaching and learning in the online environment. Michelle Trim, Department of English, Aaron Peeks, Department of Sociology, and Harlen Makemson, School of Communications, integrated Adobe Connect into their summer online courses and held both synchronous and asynchronous sessions with students.
Over the past year, Elon has been using Adobe Acrobat Connect Professional, a two-way video/audio internet communication technology, to enable faculty to hold online student office hours, to critique student projects and presentations outside the classroom, and to bring experts from around the world into the classroom via the internet.
Adobe Connect is designed to enhance faculty opportunities to use the internet for:
* Engaging students in intuitive, collaborative learning solutions
* Archiving key class sessions for immediate retrieval
* Enabling real-time interactive experiences over distance
* Fostering a collaborative environment for students and faculty
