Elon University senior Natalie Lampert recently co-authored an article about the international AIDS Conference that was featured in The Vienna Review. An international studies major and social science fellow, Lampert spent the summer interning at the English-speaking newspaper in Vienna.
“AIDS: Closer to a Cure” detailed the 2010 conference and Life Ball, which took place July 16-23 and focused on awareness of HIV/AIDs as well as the research being done to promote more effective treatment.
“Vienna has a long commitment to the struggle against HIV and AIDS,” the article reads. “Hosting the Life Ball – the biggest AIDS charity event worldwide – since 1993, the city is setting a strong example.”
Cynthia Fair, an associate professor of human service studies at Elon, presented at the conference with Elon alum Lauren Taylor ’10.
