Sang Nam, an assistant professor in the School of Communications, has been named the general secretary of the National Association for Korean Schools.
The position is a two-year term, meaning Nam will be the General Secretary until Aug. 30, 2012. NAKS has 14 regional offices and more than 1,200 Korean schools as members.
According to its website, NAKS “cultivates the development of strong bonds of friendship among Korean Schools and instruction in Korean language, culture and history. It is an organization operating with the goal of nurturing and educating Korean-Americans in the U.S.”
