Love School of Business students Gregory "Carl" Hairston and Tyler Reynolds have been named as finalists for the World Collegiate Sales Competition, to be held November 11-13 at Northern Illinois University. Only 16 students nationwide were selected as finalists. Students Priscilla Abad and Lindsay Richardson were named semifinalists for the upcoming competition.
All four Elon students surpassed the competition’s three phrases: 1. Professional voice message to a prospect; 2. Appointment setting call to a gatekeeper; and 3. Conduct an online sales call using Adobe Connect sales technology.
““I am extremely proud of how all four students stepped up to participate and learned a complex product in such as short time. They were all very committed and serious in succeeding. This type of preparation and experience will carry over in their professional sales careers,” says Michael Rodriguez, assistant marketing professor in the Love School of Business and advisor to the sales students.
The World Collegiate Sales Open (WCSO) provides an educational experience for sales students and provides companies the opportunity to seek out the world’s best sales students as potential hires. The WSCO is the most complete, realistic and encompassing sales competition in the world. The competition involves cold-calling, setting appointments, conducting sales meetings and delivering elevator pitches to recruiters.
