Frances Ward-Johnson, associate professor and associate department chair in the School of Communications, was recently named an executive editor with the Journal of International Women’s Studies.
Ward-Johnson has served on the journal’s editorial board since February 2008. She is taking on a new, expanded role as the journal moves from one editor to three due to increasing journal submissions. Ward-Johnson will share editorial responsibilities with journal founder Diana Fox of Bridgewater State College and Cami Sanderson of Ferris State University.
An online, open-access, peer reviewed journal, JIWS provides a forum for scholars, activists and students to explore the relationship between feminist theory and various forms of organizing. The journal, founded 10 years ago, seeks both multidisciplinary and cross-cultural perspectives.
