On October 26, 2010, Steven House, Provost and VPAA, and Chris Fulkerson, AVP/CIO, jointly announced a new faculty fellow position to continue advancing the relationship between our faculty and the leadership of Instructional and Campus Technologies. The Faculty Fellow for Technology will liaison with faculty and technology staff in promoting and broadly communicating about new technologies at Elon.
The fellow must be a full-time teaching faculty with interests in technology and new initiatives. The fellow will meet regularly with technology leadership, actively discuss academic technology projects, and widely share information with colleagues about new and changing technologies. Resources will include two course releases and increased access to technology and training while in the position. The appointment will be for a 2-year term.
After consultation with Stephen Folger and Academic Council, Paula Patch, ATACC Chair, and Christopher Waters, Assistant CIO, will co-chair the search committee. The search committee will make a recommendation to the Assistant Vice President for Technology and the Provost/Vice President for Academic Affairs who will select the fellow at the end of the fall semester to begin work in Winter Term.

Position Description
• Serve as advocate among academic departments, ATACC, and technology staff
• Attend regular planning and deployment strategy meetings with technology staff
• Partner in creating strategies for deploying new technologies with focus on pedagogy and support
• Assist in defining a plan for appropriate methods and media for communicating new services and support models to faculty
• Participate actively in discussions surrounding academic creative and research projects submitted to Teaching and Learning Technologies
• Assist in identifying peer faculty for training and development opportunities
