On Saturday, Nov. 6, 2010, Elon had four three-person programming teams excel at the IBM sponsored Mid-Atlantic ACM Regional Programming Contest. All four teams finished in the top 50% with two of the teams finishing in the top 25% of the 157 teams, representing over 40 universities.
Elon University had four programming teams mentored by Joel Hollingsworth compete on Saturday, November 6, 2010 at the Mid-Atlantic ACM Regional Programming Contest. The contest was held simultaneously at nine different universities and 157 four-person programming teams competed in the five-hour programming challenge.
The Elon teams all finished in the top 50%.
Elon’s top team of Jamie Albinson, Steven Norris and David Schlosser finished in the top 16% with a 26th place finish.
Elon’s second team of David Edge, Carter Kozak and Nestor Walker finished in the top 21% with a 33rd place finish.
Elon’s third team of Amanda Bienz, Amy Eubanks and Thomas Price finished in the top 42% with a 66th place finish and Elon’s fourth team of Tyler Anderson, Ben Blach and Danielle Mullin finished in the top 50% with a 80th place.
The Elon teams were extremely competitive and placed high among other strong teams from UNC Chapel Hill, Duke University, Villanova University, Drexel University, University of Richmond and the College of William and Mary.
