Greg Hlavaty, lecturer in English, and Murphy Townsend, instructor of English, co-authored an essay in the December 2010 issue of Teaching English in the Two-Year College.
This essay, “The Library’s New Relevance: Fostering the First-Year Student’s Acquisition, Evaluation, and Integration of Print and Electronic Materials,” describes a first-year composition/library orientation assignment that actively engages students’ research endeavors in the library’s physical holdings.
