Ross Wade, the assistant director of career services for the School of Communications, was interviewed by the National Association of Colleges and Employers regarding his "Six-Word Professional Statement" exercise for an article in the NACE's "Spotlight Online" newsletter.
Wade illustrated how he works with students on developing and marketing a concise and strategic professional brand to be used in resumes, cover letters, portfolios and interviews. The inspiration for the exercise came from the book “Not Quite What I Was Planning: Six-Word Memoirs by Writers Famous and Obscure,” edited by Rachel Fershleiser and Larry Smith.
