Elaine R. Jones, who served as the first woman president and director-counsel of the NAACP Legal Defense and Educational Fund from 1993 to 2004 and championed a number of groundbreaking civil rights cases over a career spanning three decades, will deliver the keynote address at Elon University School of Law's third annual Martin Luther King, Jr. forum on Thursday, January 13, 2011 at 6:30 p.m. in the law library.

SIGCSE 2011 Technical Symposium is the largest annual event focused on computer science education and is being held March 9 - 12, 2011 in Dallas Texas. The four day event brings educators from around the world to present papers, posters, panels and workshops. Joel Hollingsworth and Dave Powell will present a three hour workshop titled "Developing an Android Mobile Application for the Google App Engine Cloud.

Veteran ACC assistant football coach Jason Swepson has been named Elon's new head football coach. The announcement came at a Jan. 10 news conference in Alumni Gym, attended by more than 300 Phoenix fans and members of the football team.
