Governor Beverly Perdue has appointed Brenda Hill Pollard, a member of Elon's board of visitors, to the advisory commission for the N.C. State Museum of Natural Sciences.
Pollard, a retired state employee, worked as an executive assistant to both former N.C. Commissioner of Insurance James E. Long, Jr. and Secretary of State Thad Eure.
An active volunteer throughout her life, Pollard has served on the boards of the N.C. State Capitol Foundation, N.C. Museum of History Associates and the Junior League of Durham and Orange Counties, among others. She received the U.S. President’s volunteer Service Award in 2006.
In her new role with the N.C. State Museum of Natural Sciences advisory committee, Pollard will assist in formulating policies for the advancement of the museum.
