2010 Intramural Moot Court champions announced

At the Third Annual Elon Law Intramural Moot Court Competition, held October 26 through November 1, 21 law students earned an invitation to join the law school's Moot Court Board. Scott Morgan and Melissa Westmoreland were the competition champions.

The final round was judged by a distinguished panel of federal and state appellate judges, including: Judge Patrick Auld, Federal District Court Magistrate Judge for the Middle District of North Carolina; Justice Robert Edmunds, North Carolina Supreme Court; Judge Sam J. Ervin, IV, North Carolina Court of Appeals; and Judge Robert Hunter, North Carolina Court of Appeals.

Chris White and Mathew White were the first-runner up team in the competition. Mathew White was awarded the Best Oralist award in the final round. Beth Klein won the Best Oralist award for preliminary rounds. Whitney Butcher and Joseph Fulton won the tournament’s Best Brief award.

The top 21 competitors, all second year students, were invited to join the Moot Court Board. They are as follows: Melissa Apperson, Anna Arnopolsky, Chris Avery, Amy Broadland, Whitney Butcher, Andrea Davis, Joseph Fulton, Andrew Hoke, Beth Klein, Pamela Lawrence, Hasina Lewis, Jennifer Matthews, Chris McLain, Scott Morgan, Josh Neighbors, Ben Snyder, Julie Stainback, Melissa Westmoreland, Chris White, Mathew White, and Mark York.

Third year law students serving on the tournament’s competition committee included: Tiffany Atkins, Matt Groves, Matt Krueger-Andes, Rachel Miller, Parker Moore, Whitney Parrish, Grant Sigmon, Mandie Tauber, and Holly Wright.
