Elon Law professor and associate dean for academic affairs Catherine Dunham discussed innovations in teaching advocacy and taught through several workshops offered at Stetson University College of Law's conference titled Educating Advocates: Teaching Advocacy Skills, held May 26-28.
Dunham, who directs Elon Law’s Trial Practice Program, presented at the conference through a panel titled, “Tempest in a Teapot or True Time of Change – Skills Education and the Legal Community.”
Through workshops at the conference, Dunham also shared insights about critiquing methodologies and the uses of demonstrations and drills to enhance the student learning process in law school advocacy programs.
At Elon, Dunham teaches Civil Procedure, Appellate Advocacy, Pre-trial Litigation and other courses in the Trial Practice Program. Dunham also serves on the faculty of the National Institute for Trial Advocacy and teaches in regional and national advocacy programs.
