Marianne Janssen, Director of Clinical Education and associate professor in the Department of Physical Therapy Education (DPTE) will be presenting a poster presentation on the collaboration between the Anton de Kom Universiteit (AdeKUS) in Paramaribo, Suriname; Health Volunteers Overseas, and the Flanders Institution University Cooperation (VLIR).
The collaboration has resulted in a strengthening of the physical therapy education program at AdeKUS, and in the conversion from Bachelor to a Master degreed program.
Thanks to Project Pericles she was able to travel to Suriname on a service sabbatical in March 2008. Since then, with the support of the DPTE she returned twice, and will return again in March of this year to provide education support for the Surinamese clinical physical therapy instructors and faculty.
