Elon University professors, students and alumni continue to make news this winter through their research and activities. Notable in January were regional media appearances by faculty who discussed American Express layoffs, President Barack Obama's State of the Union address and the Challenger anniversary, as well as student involvement with an environmental summit in Sri Lanka and the annual Polar Bear Plunge on campus.
Senior Photo Day is Feb. 9

Senior Photo Day is Wednesday, February 9, from 10 a.m. - 6 p.m., in the Hearth Lounge, Moseley Center. Lifetouch Prestige Portraits will be set up to photograph senior class members. There is no sitting fee and caps and gowns are provided for the picture.

Steve DeLoach, a professor of economics, made a presentation at the Allied Social Science Associations annual meetings held Jan. 6-9, 2011. The ASSA is the largest annual economics conference, attracting more than 10,000 academic and government economists from all over the world.

Elon Law welcomes the Class of 2013

Elon Law began fall semester this week by welcoming its largest class ever. The 132 members of the Class of 2013 have a median Law School Admission Test (LSAT) score of 155, marking a third consecutive increase since 2008 in that element of the entering class profile. Members of the class also have demonstrated a strong commitment to service and leadership at undergraduate and graduate institutions and in the communities where they live and work.
