Elon University School of Law’s Class of 2013 was welcomed into the Elon University community on August 19 during a reception hosted by Elon University President Leo M. Lambert and his wife, Laurie Lambert.
Elon’s newest law students enjoyed conversation with members of the law school community and the leadership of Elon University.
The class of 132 law students also had the opportunity to discuss hopes for the new school year with law school dean George Johnson.
The reception also gave many new students the opportunity to meet members of the law school faculty.
Many students commented that the reception was one of the highlights of orientation week.
“I’m amazed by the close-knit atmosphere of the school,” said first-year student Kate Shimansky. “You can tell right away that the professors and fellow students really care about each other. It’s clear that Elon Law not only provides a great legal education, but also a support system of fellow classmates and faculty members that will help me succeed for many years to come.”
Likewise Stuart Gaylord-Scott, another member of the Class of 2013, remarked on the sense of community at Elon.
“The support system during this first week of orientation has been so thorough and wonderful,” said Gaylord-Scott. “With this kind of support around us, I feel that we can’t possibly fail.”
Members of the Class of 2013 completed orientation week at Elon Law on Friday, August 20.
Classes began for all law students on Monday, August 23.
