Matthew Valle, a professor of management and currently the 2010-2011 Distinguished Visiting Professor of Management at the United States Air Force Academy, recently presented the results of his most recent research in a faculty consortium at the Air Force Academy.
The research investigated the factors that lead to publishing in high-quality outlets in the management sciences. This research provided useful and timely information for the faculty in the AACSB-accredited Department of Management – the department will host the visiting team for its AACSB Maintenance of Accreditation review on Feb. 28.
The faculty in the Department of Management are a mix of active duty military personnel and full-time civilian members. The generation of intellectual contributions is inherently difficult for this group of faculty, some of whom are subject to overseas deployments and frequent line responsibilities. The group brainstormed strategies to increase the likelihood of successful publishing activities in outlets that are suitable to the department mission.
Valle has published more than 30 refereed journal articles and 17 conference proceedings publications since coming to Elon University. He is also a frequent presenter at national and international conferences. He currently serves as the 2020-2011 Distinguished Visiting Professor of Management at the United States Air Force Academy where he is teaching a senior seminar on power and influence to members of the Class of 2011. He also serves as a faculty representative to the Varsity Lacrosse team. He coaches youth lacrosse in Monument, Colorado.
