12:30pm - 2:00pm Lindner 206
This session will explore ways of assessing student work on blogs and wikis, so that faculty may use them more effectively in their classes. As an increasing number of faculty are blending in-class instruction with blogs and wikis to support and extend teaching and learning in their classes, understanding assessment of students’ contributions to these online spaces becomes important. Join us for lunch as Harlen Makemson, Associate Professor of Communications, and Jessie Moore, Associate Professor of English and English 110 Coordinator, examine blogs and wikis from a variety of disciplines and share their strategies for assessing student work, so we can better design these Web 2.0 tools to meet our specific courses outcomes and to foster student learning. To reserve a space and to order a lunch, contact Barbara Guy by February 24.
