Three Elon alumni among N.C. Triad’s ’40 Leaders Under Forty’

The Business Journal of the Greater Triad Area selected three Elon graduates - Kristen Wither Yntema '95, Wade G. Jurney Jr. G'09 and Jeb Brooks L'10 - among its 2011 "40 Leaders Under Forty." They were honored at a Feb. 17 event at the Embassy Suites in Greensboro, N.C., and were profiled in the Feb. 18 edition of the periodical.

The annual awards honor 40 remarkable individuals who have distinguished themselves professionally and in their communities.

Yntema is senior regional director of Advanced Home Care for the Triad region. Based in High Point, Yntema leads a division that accounts for nearly 43 percent of her company’s revenues. In 2010, she led her division to a 5.7 percent revenue increase over 2009. Yntema graduated from Elon in 1995 with a bachelor of science in business and public administration and also holds two master’s degrees from Xavier University.

Jurney, a 2009 graduate of Elon’s MBA program, is president and owner of Wade Jurney Homes, Inc., one of the Triad’s fastest growing homebuilders. Jurney also has made an impact as a member of the Greater Greensboro Realtors Association and a supporter of Habitat for Humanity, among other organizations. Jurney received his bachelor’s degree in finance, insurance and real estate from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro.

Brooks graduated from Elon University School of Law in May 2010. As executive vice president of The Brooks Group, his family’s sales training company based in Greensboro, N.C., Brooks focuses on business development and marketing and has published several articles and a book. Outside the office, he is involved in synerG, a Greensboro-based young professionals networking organization, the Greensboro Transit Authority and other groups. He received his undergraduate degree from Washington & Lee University.
