Elon Law professor of legal education Marty Peters presented at the second Asian Mediation Association Conference, held Feb. 24 and 25 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The conference covered topics in mediation related to employment law and family law among other topics.
Peters presented a paper during a program titled, “The Role of Mediation in Restoring Harmony in Relationships,” along with fellow participants Winston Siu, the chairman of the Mediation Centre Limited in Hong Kong, and Kevin Ng, district judge for the family court in Singapore. Peters was invited speaker at the the conference and her paper was published in conference materials.
Speakers at the conference came from several countries including New Zealand, the United Kingdom, Thailand, Canada, the Philippines, and Malaysia.

After the conference, Peters helped to organize and served as an instructor for a three-day family mediation clinic for Malaysian lawyers sponsored by the Malaysian Bar Counsel.
Peters also presented recently at the Vermont Law School’s supervision training program for lawyers and clinical professionals on January 28 and 29, and was invited to work with the University of Denver Strum College of law during its bar preparation program.
