General admission tickets to Elon University's Convocation for Honors on Thursday, April 7, are available at Elon's box office. Brian Williams, anchor and managing editor of NBC Nightly News, will moderate a discussion titled "We can be better: Courageous voices confront our greatest challenges." Read this note for important ticket information.
Distinguished panelists will explore tough choices that must be made to respond to threats to our democracy, economies, public education, the environment and civil stability around the world.
A general admission ticket is free with Elon ID. General admission tickets for the public are $12. Tickets are available at Center for the Arts box office during business hours, Monday-Friday, 12:30 to 5 p.m. Given the popularity of the program, general admission tickets may not be available the day of the event.
Elon’s Convocation for Honors serves as an annual event to recognize 2010 Dean’s List and President’s List students, the faculty, 2011 classes (graduating seniors and graduate students) and members of the Elon Society, the premier annual giving group at Elon. Arrangements including reserved tickets and seating will be provided for these groups.
The Convocation will begin with a student processional at 3:20 p.m. Because of the anticipated size of the audience, the student processional, and the complex staging of the program, the Office of Cultural Programs recommends that ticket holders allow ample time for parking and to be seated in Alumni Gym.
