After a month-long search, CELEBRATE! organizers have unveiled a new logo for the weeklong celebration that highlights student achievements in academics and the arts.

John Burbridge, Tina Das, and Casey DiRienzo have published the book chapter "The Role of Trust in the Global Acceptance of E-Government" in the reference book Information Communication Technologies and the Virtual Public Sphere: Impacts of Network Structures on Civil Societies.

Omri Shimron , an assistant professor of music, received a last-minute invitation to participate in an 8-hand, two-piano recital at St. Petersburg College in Florida on Friday, April 8, a performance that included works by Purcell, Bach, Mozart, Dvorak, Schubert, Grainger and Sousa.

Kirsten Doehler, an assistant professor of statistics in the Department of Mathematics and Statistics, published an article with Lisa M. Hooper of the University of Alabama, Tuscaloosa.

Thomas Erdmann, a professor of music, had his 6,000-word article, "A Conversation With Jazz Singer Norma Winstone," published in the Spring 2011 issue of WomenArts Quarterly Journal.

The Pendulum, Elon's student newspaper, and Phoenix14News, Elon's student newscast, were honored April 9 with Mark of Excellence Awards at the Society of Professional Journalists Region 2 competition in Norfolk, Va.

A record 1,394 young alumni made gifts to Elon as part of the IGNITE Challenge in March, exceeding the 1,200 donor goal and helping to bring in $480,939 to the university. By surpassing the donor goal, young alumni enabled Elon to receive bonus gifts totaling $40,000 from Elon alumna and trustee Kerrii Anderson '79 and a group of nine young alumni. Elon is grateful to all young alumni who participated in the Challenge.
