Campus Kitchen at Elon University, a project of the Kernodle Center for Service Learning and Community Engagement, needs your help for delivery shifts!
We are an affiliate of the national Campus Kitchen Project in D.C., with over 25 other sites nationwide. CKEU rescues unused and unserved food from community partners, including ARAMARK Dining Services, while engaging students, faculty and staff as volunteers who prepare and deliver the meals to those in need in the Burlington community.
Delivery shift entails:
1) Picking up the meals created by the CKEU cooking shift from the Colonnades Dining Hall as well as any other donations ready for delivery;
2) Riding with our friendly and extremely attractive delivery shift leaders to Allied Churches of Alamance County in Burlington, a pleasant and scenic drive no more than 10 minutes long;
3) Unloading the donated food from the van, and spending the duration of the shift preparing and serving lunch at Allied Churches of Alamance County;
4) Riding back to Elon, where you will be dropped off at the convenient center of everything Elon-related, Moseley.
Please consider volunteering with us for either the 8:30 a.m. or 11 a.m. shift, alternating times every Thursday. 8:30 a.m. shifts will return prior to a 10:30 a.m. class, and 11 a.m. shifts will return prior to a 12:30 p.m. class.
