Following three successful alumni events this year in Charlotte, Greensboro, and Raleigh, and an annual spring meeting held April 16, the Elon Law Alumni Association announced a series of events planned for the year ahead, including Reunion Weekend events in May, sports and charity events in partnership with law student organizations, and professional networking events scheduled throughout the year.
Recent activities of the Elon Law Alumni Association include the following three receptions hosted by the law school in partnership with the association:
- A Charlotte Area Law Alumni Reception held March 17 at The King’s Kitchen, a not for profit restaurant noted for its use proceeds to help provide food for those in need in Charlotte;
- A Triangle Area Law Alumni Reception held March 15 at North Ridge Country Club in Raleigh, and;
- A Greensboro Area Law Alumni Reception held February 2 at the Centre Point high rise in downtown Greensboro.
On April 16, the association held its annual spring meeting at the law school, led by president Melissa Duncan L’09 and attended by 18 alumni association members.
Jason Aycoth L’09, the association’s vice-president and president-elect, welcomed new members Deron Henry, L’09; Melanie Crenshaw, L’09; William Warihay, L’10; David Klein, L’10; Tiffany Atkins, L’11; Samantha Gillman, L’11; Danny Lyon, L’11; Manisha Patel, L’11; and Tamaya Davis, L’11. Associate Dean for Development Eugenia Leggett hosted a dinner at her home for association members and guests on April 15.
The spring meeting included discussion of the university’s progress in establishing an online database for law alumni networking and law school initiatives to support ongoing professional development opportunities for law alumni. The spring meeting also advanced the following events for the year ahead:

May 2011
REUNION WEEKEND
Saturday, May 21, at 8 p.m.
As part of Elon Law’s first annual Reunion Weekend, the Alumni Association will hold a social gathering at Natty Greene’s Pub & Brewing Co. in downtown Greensboro. This event will also allow alumni to welcome the Class of 2011 into the Alumni Association. Law Alumni Association members and all Class of 2011 law students are invited to attend this event with a guest.
Sunday, May 22, at 11:30 a.m.
Also as part of Reunion Weekend and prior to Commencement Ceremonies for the Class of 2011, all Alumni Association members are invited to attend a dutch-treat brunch at McCoul’s Restaurant in downtown Greensboro with a guest. After brunch, members are invited to attend graduation at the Carolina Theatre and to join in the annual procession to Center City Park to welcome the new graduates.
An RSVP will be required for both events above, with details forthcoming.

The Elon Law Alumni Association will participate in the Elon Law’s reception at the North Carolina Bar Association (NCBA) annual meeting, located at the Grove Park Inn, in Asheville, North Carolina. Law alumni will be notified by invitation about time and location details for this reception.
August 2011
The Class of 2012 is invited to join members of the Alumni Association at a Greensboro Grasshoppers baseball game in August 2011 on a date to be determined.
October 2011
The fall 2011 Alumni Association meeting is planned for October, along with a Business Law Association and Law Alumni golf event, both with dates to be determined.
March 2012
The Women’s Law Association will host the 4th Annual Barbara Sullivan Race for Women’s Health in March 2012, and the Alumni Association plans to support this event either with a pancake breakfast or water/refreshment station.
April 2012
Next spring’s Alumni Association meeting is planned for April 2012, along with a Business Law Association and Law Alumni golf event, both with dates to be determined.
May 2012
On May 19, 2012, the Alumni Association will host a reception at the Greensboro Country Club welcoming the Class of 2012.
As more detailed information about these events becomes available, that information will be posted on the alumni homepage of the Elon Law website, under Alumni Events, and on the Elon Law Alumni group page on Facebook.
