Dr. Stephen Byrd, program coordinator for special education, presented a paper on “Parent Perspectives of Disability, Special Education, and Disability” at the Council for Exceptional Children 2011 Convention and Expo in Nation Harbor, Md.
Dr. Byrd’s presentation focused on his research interviewing families about their views of disability, special education and especially their need for information.
The Council for Exceptional Children is an international organization representing various stakeholders who are committed to enhancing the lives of individuals with disabilities and their families. This year’s conference was held April 25-28 in the Washington, D.C. area with over 6,500 in attendance.
