Janna Anderson, associate professor in the School of Communications and director of the Imagining the Internet Center, was the closing keynote speaker May 11 at Webcom, located at ICAO in Montreal, Canada.
The 10th annual Webcom Montreal (http://webcom-montreal.com/) was one of the largest gatherings on the Web and new technologies, strategies, challenges and trends for North American organizations.
This year’s Webcom featured 700 participants, 45 speakers and 33 case studies, panels and workshops. The focus was on internal communications and services; external marketing and communications; e-commerce; platforms and strategies; and innovation and interactive experiences. In addition to the main conference, participants took part in webcomLive – an 8-hour WebTV presentation broadcast live from the conference and accessible online in real-time, and webcamp, a workshop on social Web techniques.
In her evening keynote talk, Anderson shared the details of research conducted by Imagining the Internet and through the “Future of the Internet” surveys she conducts with Lee Rainie, director of the Pew Internet & American Project.
