Elon Law alumnus Brendan Garcia selected for Presidential Management Fellowship

Brendan Garcia, a member of Elon Law's Class of 2011, has been accepted into the Presidential Management Fellowship (PMF) program. The number of applicants to the program each year has been as high as 8,500 in recent years. In 2011, 275 PMF finalists have been hired by federal agencies. Garcia will be working with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs in the Veterans Benefits Administration.
Elon senior selected for prestigious Va. internship program

An Elon University student with the goal of one day running for public office is taking part this summer in the Virginia Governor’s Fellows Program, a highly selective internship for rising college seniors, recent college graduates or graduate students from Virginia that places them in the governor’s office and other state agencies.
Arcaro shares Periclean Scholars model with Orange County leaders

On June 29th Tom Arcaro, Director of Project Pericles, was an invited speaker at the quarterly meeting of Orange County civic leaders. His talk "Civic Engagement Pathways: The Periclean Scholars Model" led to a productive discussion about the role of higher education in preparing the next generation of civic leaders.
Eddie Bridges ’57, Claude Manzi ’50 to join Guilford County Sports Hall of Fame

Elon alumni Eddie Bridges '57 and the late Claude Manzi '50 will be among 14 individuals inducted into the Guilford County (N.C.) Sports Hall of Fame in the Class of 2011, a group that will bring the total number of inductees since the Hall's creation to 78.
