The Alamance County Department of Social Services is working to make improvements in traffic flow and in customer services within the reception areas. We are seeking volunteer students who would greet customers as they enter the lobby to explain the new process and to direct them. We feel having a greeter will make our agency a more customer friendly place to be as the majority of customers who enter our agency are in desperate situations to begin with. Volunteers would work one at a time—not in groups.
The agency will take one-time volunteers for the semester, but they would prefer a sustained commitment from volunteers. The hours of volunteering can be discussed. A background check and training are required and will be provided by the agency.
