Faculty participate in summer Moodle training

The summer of 2011 was a busy time for faculty as they embarked upon learning a new learning management system, Moodle.

Teaching and Learning Technologies staff Cheri Crabb, Roger Gant, and Ben McFadyen along with faculty Randy Piland and Steve Folger, collaborated with Elon faculty to build a course in Moodle. Over 125 faculty attended the summer sessions between June and August.

During the day long workshop, faculty were exposed to Moodle’s interface and developed a course for fall semester. Many faculty enjoyed working in Moodle finding it was easier to create a course and place content appropriately since the entire course map was on the first page, easily visible by scrolling down.

The Moodle workshops were offered as part of Elon’s learning management system evaluation. If you’re interested in learning more about or experiencing Moodle, please contact TLT at tlt@elon.edu or 278-5006.
