Sang Nam, an assistant professor in the School of Communications, was awarded the Distinguished Service Award and Tablet of Honor from the Minister of Education, Science and Technology of Korea during the summer.
Nam received the award for his outstanding service to the education of the Korean language and Korean culture, along with his service as General Secretary for the National Association for Korean Schools. He was given the award at NAKS’s 29th annual conference July 15 in San Francisco.
Nam also organized the NAKS conference, which featured more than 650 Korean teachers and scholars who gathered to discuss pedagogy that enriches Korean and Korean culture education.
