On Thursday, Sept. 15, Elon will hold its 6th annual Call to Honor Ceremony in the Academic Village.
The ceremony will feature officers from all four classes and President Lambert will lead the group in the honor pledge reading. While the ceremony is directed to new students, other members of the Elon community are welcome to attend.
The Call to Honor will be held in the Academic Village (Alumni Gym is the rain location) starting at 9:40 a.m. We ask that classes (particularly those with first year students) be excused at 9:30 to allow students time to travel to the site and be seated for the processional. This event replaces the weekly chapel meeting, which will resume again on September 22.
At the conclusion of the ceremony, student attendees will have the opportunity to sign their name to an honor poster. While we hope to process students through the lines in time for their 10:30 classes, unexpected delays could cause a few of them to be a little late.
This ceremony is an important reminder to students that our core values of honesty, integrity, responsibility and respect are to be upheld by members of all classes and form the basis for good academic citizenship. I hope you will reinforce the importance of this moment of reflection by encouraging students to attend.
