An essay by Mathew Gendle, an associate professor of psychology, will be published in the forthcoming issue of The Journal of Undergraduate Neuroscience Education.
In “Discussing philosophy of mind in introductory neuroscience classes,” Gendle criticizes the way in which the issue of philosophy of mind is typically treated in introductory classes and textbooks, and he challenges instructors and textbook authors to consider ways in which this foundational component of neuroscience education can be addressed more productively.
