Pamela Harriman Foreign Service Fellowships provide funding for students interning in the U.S. Embassies in London or Paris, or the Secretary of State’s Office in Washington, D.C.
This nationally competitive and highly selective program offers a $5,000 stipend for eligible juniors and seniors throughout the United States.
Established by the College of William & Mary in 2000, the Harri¬man Foreign Service Fellowships honor Pamela Harriman—the former U.S. Ambassador to France, Legion d’Honneur awardee, patriot, diplomat, philanthropist, friend of the arts, and mentor to a generation of public servants.

Fellowship Timeline:

Apply for a State Department Internship:

November 1, 2011 – Deadline to apply for Summer 2012 State Department Internships in the U.S. Embassies in London or Paris, or the Secretary of State’s Office in Washington, D.C.
• February – State Department completes most intern selections (pending security clearance).

Apply for the Pamela Harriman Fellowship:

• Mid-February- Harriman Program staff contacts eligible
interns and invites them to apply for the Fellowships.
• March – Finalists selected for interviews. Harriman finalists interview with Advisory Board.
• Mid-March to May-Harriman Fellows selected and notified.
