Assistant Professor Amy Overman and Lumen Scholar Ruth Robbins '12 co-authored a presentation at the North Carolina Conference on Aging in Charlotte on Oct. 18, 2011, titled, "Memory improvement in older adults through cognitive training: A community approach."
They presented preliminary results from their research project with minority older adults that demonstrated that non-computerized cognitive training through specialized game-playing can improve brain function.
The North Carolina Conference on Aging is an interdisciplinary conference on aging. It is supported by many aging agencies in the state of North Carolina including The Division of Aging and Adult Services, the Governor’s Advisory Council on Aging, and the UNC Institute on Aging.
