Randy Piland, a senior lecturer in the School of Communications, spent a couple of weeks this summer providing coverage of the 2011 World Scout Jamboree in Sweden.
Piland worked as a volunteer photographer on the national contingent staff for the Boy Scouts of America, and his photos and videos from the event were recently published in the current issue of Scouting Magazine and featured on the companion website.
Several pages of photos accompany the story by Scouting Magazine’s senior editor Bryan Wendell and can be viewed in the November-December issue of the magazine or online at http://scoutingmagazine.org/2011/10/a-new-worldview/. Piland combined video to his still photography, all of which was used with Wendell’s story on the Scouting Magazine’s website. Scouting Magazine reaches more than one million adult volunteers and is published by the Boy Scouts of America.
