Theresa Helmer, a senior in Elon’s School of Communications, was selected to participate in a November panel discussion titled “A Millennial Perspective on Diversity & Multiculturalism” sponsored by the Mosaic Center of the American Advertising Federation.
The panel explored how young people anticipate multiculturalism to be communicated in future media content, such as advertising and entertainment.
The event, part of the AAF’s “Thought Leadership” series, featured advertising industry experts and a select group of students representing AAF chapters from around the nation. Helmer, a strategic communications major, was selected to the panel by the Mosaic Center alongside students from Syracuse, Temple, St. Bonaventure and Pace universities. Representatives from Ithaca College and Boston College also participated. The New York City offices of McCann Worldwide hosted the panel.
While in New York, Helmer attended the Advertising Career Conference, conducted by the Advertising Women of New York.
