Elon University School of Law and Elon Law’s chapter of the Society for Health Law and Bioethics will host a “Roundtable with T.R. Reid” on Nov. 17 at 9 a.m. in room 211 of the law school.
Reid, author of the New York Times best-seller, The Healing of America: A Global Quest for Better, Cheaper and Fairer Healthcare, will discuss his book and other projects.
Author of nine books in English and three books in Japanese, Reid has done extensive healthcare research around the globe. He has filmed documentaries for National Geographic Television, PBS and A&E Network. Reid’s reporting for The Healing of America was captured in two PBS Frontline documentaries, “Sick Around the World,” which aired in 2008 and “India–A Second Opinion,” which aired in 2009.
A frequent guest on NPR’s Morning Edition, Reid is a member of the several boards including the Health Research and Education Trust, the Colorado Coalition for the Homeless and the University of Colorado Medical School. He graduated from Princeton University and served as a naval officer before working as a reporter for the Washington Post. Reid has also practiced as an attorney.
A father of three, Reid currently resides in Denver, Colorado with his wife, attorney Margaret McMahon.
