A Nov. 3 fire in his hometown claimed the life of a university student from Maryland.
A “Gathering of Friends” is planned for Wednesday, Nov. 9, at 4:30 p.m. at the labyrinth by Holt Chapel in memory of Elon University student Connor McKeown. Over the summer he had suffered injuries in an automobile accident and was not able to return to Elon for the year.
The gathering will be an informal and open time for those who wish to express thoughts, feelings and remembrances of Connor.
Connor’s parents, Delane Lewis and Kevin McKeown, welcome cards at 2714 Pemberton Ridge Road, Baldwin, Maryland 21013. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Kolmac Clinic, 6525 N. Charles Street, The Gibson Bldg, Suite 085, Towson, Maryland 21204.
Staff members in Counseling Services and in The Truitt Center for Religious and Spiritual Life are available during working hours or through the on-call system, which can be accessed via Campus Security after hours at (336) 278-5555.
