Fellowship overview:

The ZSR Fellowship is awarded annually and staggered over two years. As a first-year Fellow, you will work closely with program officers and gain an invaluable perspective on grant making, the nonprofit sector, and progressive public policy in North Carolina. You will also be encouraged to join professional development groups, attend events, and pursue projects that supplement and cultivate your own leadership and expertise.

Day-to-day expectations:
From day-one, you will become an integral member of the ZSR team. In addition to overseeing recruitment of next year’s Fellow and various internship positions offered through the Foundation, Fellows are also responsible for supporting projects and decision-making across the Foundation’s five focus areas: community economic development, strengthening democracy, environment, pre-collegiate education, and social justice and equity.

Qualifications:
• Residents or natives of NC and/or graduates of institutions of higher education in NC
• Recent graduation and/or emerging leadership
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Analytical, critical thinking skills
• Demonstrated initiative
• Multicultural competency
• Can work effectively alone and in collaboration
