Jan Register, Program Assistant – Truitt Center for Religious and Spiritual Life

Elon is kind of a family affair for Jan. Her father, Bill Sharpe, was the first full-time chaplain at the university and her mother, Barbara, worked in the traffic ticket office. She and husband Robert have three children, William, 15, Robert Jr., 19, and Alex, 21, and a Yorkie-Poo mutt named Ringo. In her spare time, Jan enjoys singing in an informal worship band at her church (Front Street Methodist), walking the golf course with her husband, watching her sons playing golf, shopping with her daughter, running and swimming.

Jenny Chapman, Grants Coordinator – Office of Sponsored Programs

In her new job, Jenny will be able to combine her experience in education, writing and editing, and working with grants. A North Carolina native, she has worked with the Chapel Hill City Schools, McGawn-Hill Education (New York City), the Education Center and the Alamance-Burlington School System. In her spare time, Jenny enjoys singing and acting, spending time with friends, going to concerts, traveling, reading and working on art projects.

• Kathy Scarborough, manager of Barnes & Noble at Elon University, and husband Neil welcomed daughter Jayme Rose on Dec. 1. Jayme joins older brother Tommy, who is excited about his little sister.
