Senior marketing major Jennifer Small is advancing to the finals of the World Collegiate Sales Open after successfully competing against 200 students in the first three rounds.
Hosted by Northern Illinois University, the World Collegiate Sales Open (WCSO) is designed to provide an educational opportunity for sales students by mimicking real world activities that a sales representative would need to master.
“The World Collegiate Sales Open is the most comprehensive and competitive sales event around,” said faculty coach and assistant professor of marketing Michael Rodriguez. “Students participating not only have to know the product in detail but follow every step of the sales process from cold calling to providing an online demo of the product to close the sale.”
The finals take place February 23-26 and will include a voice mail, an appointment call, two elevator pitches, a reverse job fair and two role plays for each of the 20 finalists.
