Felten presents workshops in Saudi Arabia

Peter Felten, Assistant Provost and Director of the Center for the Advancement of Teaching and Learning, co-presented five days of workshops at King Faisal University in Hofuf, Saudi Arabia, January 7-12.

Felten and Michael Palmer, a chemist at the University of Virginia’s Teaching Resource Center, facilitated workshops for 50 male KFU faculty, while Deandra Little and Dorothe Bache, both from the University of Virginia, led parallel sessions for female KFU faculty. The workshops centered on course design, exploring topics including student motivation and engagement, academic service-learning, and course- and program-level assessment.

King Faisal University enrolls 24,000 students in fourteen colleges, and is located in the province of Al-Ahsa in eastern Saudi Arabia.
