Brad Davis Moore has been named director of planning, design & construction management at Elon University where he will oversee all aspects of major building projects and renovations to campus facilities.

Senior Vice President Gerald Whittington announced the appointment on Wednesday. Moore has worked at the university since 2005, first as assistant director of construction management and later as associate director of planning, design & construction management.

“Brad’s excellent skill set and experience, and his familiarity with the university community and its vibrant culture, give him the knowledge we need in moving forward with the priorities outlined in the Elon Commitment strategic plan,” Whittington said. “With several residential facilities and other campus features set to be built this decade, Brad will play a critical role in all stages of our physical growth.”

In his new role, Moore will coordinate and insure effective performance of the people and organizations involved in the construction of new facilities or modifications to existing buildings. He and his unit will also document university design comments and track resolution of design requests.

Moore earned a bachelor’s degree in environmental design and architecture from N.C. State University and a master’s degree in architecture and in city and regional planning, both from Clemson University. He has been a licensed architect in North Carolina since 1999 and is an accredited professional in Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) by the U.S. Green Building Council.

At Elon, Moore has supervised department staff, developed site plans and space studies, collaborated with and managed outside design teams and contracts with general contractors, and produced both in-house architectural designs and in-house cost estimates and constructions schedules, among other responsibilities.

Prior to coming to Elon, Moore worked as a campus architect for N.C. State, working to update the physical master plan and the long-range capital plan. He also spent time with architectural firms in both North and South Carolina.

Moore takes over for Neil Bromilow, who retired last month after serving the university for 17 years.
