Elon University senior Lauren Stranahan has been accepted to present her undergraduate research on April 24, 2012, in the Posters on the Hill program in Washington, D.C.
Stranahan, a biology major and Lumen Scholar who has worked closely with Associate Professor Linda Niedziela, will travel to the nation’s capital with her mentor to meet with lawmakers and discuss the value of, and to help voice calls for, support for research at the undergraduate level.
The program is sponsored by the Council on Undergraduate Research.
Stranahan is the fifth Elon student in recent years to participate in Posters on the Hill. Drew Gardner ’11, Melissa Apperson ‘07, Larissa Ferretti ‘09 and Kimberly Duggins ’10 have also made the trek to Washington for sharing their work with Congress.
