Kim Poe ’08 a finalist for Alamance-Burlington School System Teacher of the Year

Kim Poe, a sixth-grade intensive reading and social studies teacher at Hawfields Middle School in Mebane, N.C., is one of six finalists for the Alamance Burlington School System's 2012 Teacher of the Year Award.

The winner will be announced in September at the school system’s annual Excellence in Education Teacher of the Year Program.

Poe became eligible for the ABSS honor when she received the teacher of the year award at Hawfields Middle School. She was selected as a finalist from a pool of teacher of the year winners from schools across the county, which included Lindsay Keiper ’05, who teaches special education at Sellars-Gunn Education Center in Burlington, N.C.
