Habitat for Humanity ReStore Furniture Collection
Dates: Friday, May 11 – Tuesday, May 22 from 9 a.m. – 5 p.m.
Location: Back Parking Lot of Elon Community Church
Collecting: Gently used furniture, working appliances, house wares, and lamps. Donations will be used by HFH in their “ReStore” resale location to provide funds to work with local families in need of decent, affordable housing. (www.restorealamance.com)

Residence Life furniture/clothing/sheets/school supplies collection
Dates: May 11-22
Location: Contact your residential Area Office
Collecting: Gently used furniture, working appliances, lamps, usable clothing, extra-long twin sheets, unused/gently used school supplies (paper/notebooks/pens/pencils).

Used Electronics Collection
Sponsored by the Office of Sustainability and Goodwill
Date: Saturday, May 12, from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m.
Location: Back Parking Lot of Elon Community Church
Collecting: Computers, computer accessories, monitors, fax machines, printers, scanners, video game equipment, video games, CDs, DVDs, cables, cords, routers, modems, unopened ink cartridges, televisions, DVD players, cell phones and calculators.
What’s NOT Accepted: Home appliances (microwaves, stoves, etc.) or items with refrigerants (refrigerators, air conditioners); household chemicals or other chemicals of any kind; equipment containing or having been in contact with any chemicals or liquids; commercial or institutional material.

All electronics collected will be donated to the Triad Goodwill. For computers, Goodwill will erase all hard drives and remove information before re-selling or de-manufacturing for recycling. Participants will receive a free piece of pizza for making a donation, while supplies last.

Non-Perishable Food Collection

Location: Kernodle Center for Service Learning & Community Engagement (Moseley 233)
Collecting: Canned & boxed non-perishable food items which will be used to serve local needs though the Elon Campus Kitchen

Bicycle Collection
Dates: Friday, May 11 – Tuesday, May 22 from 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.
Location: Bike rack outside of the Truitt Center (401 E. College Ave)
Collecting: Gently used bicycles which will be donated for use by clients of the Allied Churches Shelter of Burlington who need transportation

Loaves and Fishes
Loaves & Fishes is a local food ministry that provides groceries to hungry families in Alamance County and the five surrounding counties. They take donations of any nonperishable food in cans, boxes or bags, perishable food in good condition, frozen food, fresh fruits and vegetables in season, baby formula and food, toilet paper, diapers (infant and adult), and cat or dog food.

Trollinger’s Treasures sells mostly high-quality used clothing items to benefit Residential Treatment Services. They appreciate donations of any designer and boutique clothing or “nic-nacs.”

The Salvation Army Thrift Store desires donations of clothes, shoes, jewelry, handbags, furniture and sporting equipment. Profits made will benefit Salvation Army programs.
